Standish 2 Corner of East 40th St. at 22-1/2 Ave. S (Standish Ave. S, today) 1924

Standish 3 East side, early years circa 1916. Appears this side was built first. Portables were built on west side.

Standish 4 East side. Portable classrooms can be seen at rear, west side. Circa 1916.

Standish 10 South side must have been completed in 1925 following the east and west wings per the corner stone at front entrance.

Standish 11 Miss Bessie LePres' (?) kindergarten class in Room 101 (northeast corner). Had piano accompanist.

Standish 12 North side, playground construction. Probably circa 1920.

Standish 13 Main entrance was on the South side when Standish existed. Today, driveway is on the East side.

Standish 14 Front entrance, South side. Condominiums are known as, "Standish on the Green".

Standish 15 Back of units, North side. Faculty parking and playground area where merry-go-round, stride bars, monkey bars and slide? were.

Standish 17 Playground is now sodded, complete with a garden for residents at the North end.

As I searched for schools to photograph, I came upon "Schulstad Street", named for our classmate, Denny Schulstad.  The street is located south of the 62 Crosstown highway, and is the same as
59th-1/2 Street East between 26th and 28th Avenues South.
